Title is pretty obvious,

It would be nice to be able to add value programmatically to duallist and select.

There is already the ca_fdGetOptions functions that gives us the content of a select or a duallist.

Why not create ca_fdSetOptions?

I guess it already exists and that it is used to populate duallist and select after a fetch of a report or a plugin so just make it available to all

CarolPiccus, can you tag the new PM please?

I wish they could, but we already have a lot that we are trying to address right now.

Any chance they can create a setOptions function at the same time ?

Dropdown and table can return a JSON object when using ca_fdGetOptions. Why not accept one with ca_fdSetOptions.

whoops - wrong one

You talking about the dropdown?

This idea is not about dropdown usability for end user. It's about populating them with a webservice return instead of a report-object or a plugin!

Still in talks with the team - as you know, they have been a bit busy lately .

Also there is a question that has no answer because this is not implemented

Select Box in Catalog invoke REST or Curl

This would be a way to stay modern and would be much easier to integrate with apis.

I asked for that here also, but it was not well recieved

Filling Select field dynamically without the use of java plugins or reports

And it would allow us to gather data from web services all around and add them into our forms.

So much versatility

This would be great! I wouldn’t need case statements in my data objects anymore.

Yes, I don't know how this is not available yet.
