We would like siteminder to have an ability to write to a local audit file (or a flag file) if and only if there is a problem in the SQL Audit database or connectivity issue. I believe this feature is currently not exist with the current version of the product.

Pls pursue this as an enhancement request.

Your input is vital to that effort. The CA Single Sign-On Product Management team has reviewed your suggested enhancement. Based on current roadmap priorities and/or the limited amount of community support for this idea, we are not accepting this idea into the product backlog. Therefore, it is being moved to a “Not Planned” status.

I believe you'd need it both ways i.e. Failover from DB to flatfile and Failback to DB once connectivity is restored. Just making sure to complete the cycle.

Alternatively, Have you considered having multiple DB's configured for Failover? Just to make sure if primary goes down, then fails over to secondary. On the same lines, an extension to your ER i.e. If all listed DB's in Failover sequence dies; only then failover to Flatfile.
