In January 2022 we announced a very popular enhancement enabling Gen's CICS and Java applications to consume (call out to) REST APIs- Announced Here. As an agile development team, we collaborated with you, the users, to prioritize the features in that January deliverable, and we made plans for what should be next.
By popular demand, we're pleased to announce our most recent addition: Native support of Security Schemes for consuming REST APIs in Gen's Java and CICS applications. We also responded to your request for improvements to the user experience.

Scope for this publishing:
- Gen now supports these security schemes: BasicAuth, BearerAuth, ApiKeyAuth, OAuth2 - Client Credentials Flow.
- Your OpenAPI spec can now be in YAML format, in addition to JSON.
- When using a URL to provide the OpenAPI spec, you can now also access URLs that require a username and password for authentication.
- On the parameter matching screens we enhanced the experience by adding a filter field, widening the window, and simplifying the parameter list.
