Gen will soon provide you with a way to use longer passwords, also known as passphrases, in Client Manager. This enhancement is driven by this Community Idea, and our mission to meet your security needs.
This change impacts the following areas:
- Allow up to 200 byte passwords, when Remote Enhanced security level in Client Manager.
- In scope: Sockets to CICS and C servers under the TE.
- Out of scope: Sockets to IMS, CPI-C and RSC/MP. These will continue to support passwords up to 8 bytes.
- ECHO
- Security exits: Server exit TIRSECV/ on z/OS TIRSECVX , TCP/IP Listener exit TIRSLEXT, and ENCRYPT user exit is added for client manager under DECREXIT.C
- Client Manager server configuration and file set up
We need your help to confirm existing functionality is retained and new functionality meets your needs. Even if you are not implementing Passphrases, these changes may affect you.
We would greatly appreciate an opportunity to demo these changes for you in a 1 hour call. We can also offer you access to a Beta version so you can test these changes in your system and confirm compatibility.
