What actions should I take if a CA VM product seems to be in a loop?

If you are unsure about whether you are in a loop, there is a good trace to check for that. First, issue the command

#CP TRACE I R 0-end RUN CMD D G

after a couple of screens of output, issue the command

#CP TRACE END ALL

Examine the output for repetitions.

This is good for any CA VM product.

If the product is in a loop, then you should first take a dump, then take the product down and bring it back up. Take the dump with the command:

VMDUMP 0-END issued from the product userid.

Then save the dump, the product console, and the system console but do not send them to CA. Open an issue with CA Technical Support (at support.ca.com). The support engineer will ask you for the documentation that is needed for your particular situation.
