  • 1.  Propagating "Refresh" Command

    Posted Nov 16, 2017 02:55 AM

    Hi,

I believe, this must have been  discussed several times during years....

Is there a way to do a sysplex wide refresh?

For example, when we change a permission of a user which runs transactions in CICS regions in different LPARs and do a refresh in one LPAR., user record in CICS regions in another LPAR will not be aware of that change. Is there any way that the user records in other LPARs be signaled(propagated) and refreshed automatically, or is there any method like doing TSS REF .... XCF(*) as we can for TSS MODI .... XCF(*)

    Thank you,

    Erdem.

    Hello Erdem,

if the product offers a solution, I'd be interested too. For the meantime until the product offers a solution, an auxiliary rexx could help, which gets the userid, creates and submits a TSO-batchjob containing the TSS-refresh-command for the requested userid to every LPAR in the sysplex.

    kind regards,

    Josef

Thank you Josef. I will go ahead and create an idea. Hope it will be developed soon.

    Hi Erdem, Josef & Frank,

There is no way to Refresh as you are asking.  The Route command works with F TSS,STATUS or other modify commands, but not with admin commands.  Your best course of action is to open an IDEA.
