  • 1.  How to use FILEOPEN Metric ?

Set the FILEOPEN metric to alert when the D13401 file is CLOSED as shown in the screenshot. However, no alerts are triggered in CALERTS. I set it up in two ways and in my understanding I should warn at least one of them.

    Am I doing something wrong?

Issue CSCHEDUL and ensure the SYSTEM-FILES event shows as ENABLED in the Status field.

Is it possible to set the Duration to 1second to have the file close tracking? I need to alert you as soon as file is closed.

How often data collection/thresholding is performed for files is controlled by the Every value for the event on CSCHEDUL (not Duration).
HELP CSCHEDUL for the Every field shows the minimum value for SYSTEM-FILES is 1 minute (which is the same for all CICS thresholding except for transactions), so alerting will occur no more frequently than 1 minute for the FILEOPEN state.
The Duration coded on the FILEOPEN state determines how many minutes it had to be in that state for it to trigger.
