Interesting automation situation - task ends with C0000 because of an error, like connection dropped, something that is internal.  EOM rule executes, changes CS to DOWN and since the DS is UP, the tasks starts back up....this happens continually.  Until someone notices it.... Just wondering if others have run into this and some brainstorming of what could be done in this situation.

? possible to count the number of times the task comes down within so many minutes - set CS to failed.

Which version of SSM are you using?  Both SSM version 2 and SSM version 3 provide 'retry' limits.  If you are using SSM version 3 and the policy manager, the retry limits can be implemented through the policy manager panel dialogs.  If you are using SSM version 2, please review the documentation and comments associated with the SSMRETRY sample rule.

Often there's been a message before that indicating a problem, which we use to set the current_state to ERROR (or any thing you'd like), so it does not get restarted, at EOM.

Ofcourse you'll need to be sure that that condition will lead to actual stop of the task.
