    Hello @Saeed Almutairi,
Gen generated Java applications are not specifically certified for the IBM Cloud Private Linux on z environment.
Would the applications be deployed under IBM WebSphere Application Server in that environment?
Gen generated Java applications are certified for Application Servers including IBM WebSphere per these documentation pages for currently supported releases Gen 8.5 & Gen 8.6
https://docops.ca.com/ca-gen/8-5/en/technical-requirements/general-comments - see Application Servers - Supported Java Application Servers
    https://docops.ca.com/ca-gen/8-6/en/technical-requirements/general-comments#GeneralComments-SupportedJavaApplicationServers

As you see WebSphere is tested on Linux but not specifically tested on Linux on z, so the statement shown on those pages links would apply:
The following matrix details which application servers were tested on which Gen supported platforms. If a problem is discovered with a combination of an application server and an operating system not tested (see matrix below), we will attempt to duplicate the problem on a tested combination and work with the application server vendor to resolve the operating system specific issue.

    I hope that information helps.

If any Gen community user has successfully deployed Gen Java applications to WebSphere running under Linux on z can they please share their experiences with
    @Saeed Almutairi
Also @Saeed Almutairi for formal certification of "Gen Java applications under WebSphere on Linux on z" you might want to post a new Idea under category "CA Gen" on the new Ideation community which can be accessed from the main menu bar (Ideation)

    Thanks

    Hi Lynn and Saeed,

Like you both, I'm unaware of Gen customers who've deployed applications under WAS on z/Linux, although there many customers with Gen applications deployed under WAS on other platforms.  We have previously investigated this to some depth in consultation with the team in Plano, and the key to understanding the compatibility is the EJB specification compliance under the WAS implementation.

TL;DR: Although not *certified*, Gen EJBs deployed to WAS on z/Linux is compliant with required standards and therefore expected to work out of the box.

@Lynn Williams and @Saeed Almutairi, we went through a successful deployment with a customer on this platform last year.  I believe this was ultimately built and deployed using the  EJB Web Services TP Mon to WAS under z/Linux.

That code has been pushed through development and into their production application without any hitches, so this should work for you.

Thanks @Lynn Williams @Tim Dargavel @Daniel Stratton for your useful replies. While it's successfully deployed to that environment, how about applications performance? compared to WAS on other environments such as Linux on x86 architecture and Windows?

@Saeed Almutairi, I will let @Tim Dargavel and @Daniel Stratton comment on their specific experiences but I would expect the question of WAS performance on different OS platforms to more a general one and not something that is specific to Gen Java applications.

Yes, I agree with @Lynn Williams on this - what you're asking for is more generic than #cagen specific.

With regards to our experience, we don't have those direct comparisons.  It was a green fields implementation for a new CA Gen customer, so there wasn't anything particularly comparable for their purposes.  They did have the functionality prior to this, but it was in a completely different, non-WAS stack, so it's not an apples to apples sort of thing.  They were happy enough with the performance that it's still running, and more work is being scheduled to run in that environment.
