Hi, we have a IMS database with a root segment with a field containing the number of child segments.   An error occurred where the count in the root segment does not match the number of child segments.   Is there a way to use the count within IMS File Aid Flex to display the root segments where the count within the root segment does the match the actual number of child segments?  The
Here is the layout.  The TM-LINE-COUNT contains the number of TXTDATA segments.
    PARENT: TXTMSTR
    SEGMENT: TXTDATA

    SEGMENT: TXTMSTR
    02 TM-RECORD
    03 TM-CNTL-DATA
    05 TM-TEXT-TYPE
    05 TM-TEXT-RELATION
    05 TM-KEY-1
    05 TM-KEY-2
    05 TM-KEY-3
    03 TM-DETAIL-DATA
    05 TM-TITLE
    05 TM-LINE-COUNT

    Hello Patrick,

Sou you would like to display only the IMS records where the TM-LINE-COUNT value matches the number of TXTDATA children.

Unfortunately I can't think of any way to relate a value (TM-LINE-COUNT) to a number of children, either in pure IMS or using File Master for IMS unique capabilities as the selection criteria.

    Best regards,
