Hello Forum, just one of those questions that one thinks about once a decade:
We are upgrading our mainframe cpus next month and all our lpars will be down 4-6 hours, (and so including our ESP v11.4 mainframe edition)
Our operations is mulling over different scenarios to control applications before and after the long outage that includes issuance of hold commands and/or oper quiesce.
When one issues in page mode the command: oper QUIESCE
one sees something like this:
oper status
ESP1977I ESP release 11.4 status
ESP1978I EVENT SCHEDULING
QUIESCEDESP1979I DATA SET TRIGGERING
ACTIVEQuesiton: Scheduling is clearly quiesced, but DATA SET TRIGGERING remains active.
Is there a pagemode command that would also quiesce data set triggering?
And is there any reason why we'd even care if it remained active?
thanks
