We are pleased to announce that CA Gen 8.6 now populates the PSMGR-RUNTIME-TYPE field in GLOBDATA structure.

Population of this information is at runtime on the Mainframe to indicate where the application is executing (CICS, IMS, Batch, TSOAE) plus details about the application type (Blockmode, Server Manager, Batch Manager), protocol (for Cooperative), screen type (for Blockmode), and attach type (for Batch). This feature originated from a customer Ideation request

If you are using the PSMGR-RUNTIME-TYPE field for your own purposes you should plan to make adjustments before adopting this PTF. For example, you may want to overwrite what we populate in that field, or you may like to keep the default data and find an alternate location for your information.

You can find the solution at the following links:

See "Populate PSMGR-RUNTIME-TYPE field in GLOBDATA" for Common Modules CICS, Common Modules IMS, MVS Implementation Tool, Host Encyclopedia, Common Modules, and Unresolved Runtime Modules.
