Is anyone using these NetMaster Dataset security exits?

The /PARMS NMSECURITY parameter group supports the specification of 2 exits. One for dataset allocation and the other for dataset access.

 

• The Dataset Access Authorization Exit(NMDSNCHK) controls user authority when executing the ALLOCATE command and FTS functions.
• The Dataset Services Authorization(NMDSSCHK) exit controls user authority when performing Dataset Services functions

 

We are planning to remove these exits along with the NMSECURITY parameter group because exits create a maintenance and knowledge burden on customers and are a major cause of support issues.

Hi Jennifer,

 

We have never customised these exits and just accept the defaults that all dataset access is validated as per normal via standard RACF dataset rules against the user that is logged on.
