On behalf of CA Technologies, a Broadcom Company, we appreciate your business and the opportunity to provide you with high-quality, innovative software and services. As part of our ongoing commitment to customer success under the Continuous Delivery model, the below feature was General Availability (GA) on 2nd August 2021:

LU02191 - New Product Module Analysis and z/OS Updates

This Feature PTF will allow SYSVIEW users to interactively determine what maintenance is currently applied to their systems and if the maintenance has been rolled out to the run-time libraries correctly on all systems. In addition, this PTF includes several other z/OS related updates.

This feature PTF contains the following enhancements and changes:

    New product module analysis commands

This enhancement provides following benefits -

    • Users can view the current module identification information for each module in their product run-time loadlib.
    • Users can perform comparison between their run-time module's fix level and the RMID found in the SMP/E CSI. Thus, determine if the module's maintenance level is correct. The run-time modules can be compared on each LPAR using the SYSVIEW Cross System component.

SMF record formatter and ISV assignment updates

This enhancement will provide visibility to new or existing information in SMF records that SYSVIEW did not display previously. These formatters are driven by drilling down into an SMF record from the SMFLOG command.

Job Entry Subsystem (JES) related commands updates

Improvement to JES2 user experience, they can now

    • Stop and start the conversion phase processing of a JES2 member.
    • Validate JES2 destination validation prior to altering the destination to the following commands: JHELDQUE, JJOBQUE, JOBSUM, JOUTQUE, JTRANQUE, LISTINP.
    • Remove all traces of a job structure from the JES2 job queue by a specified JES job number or JES job Id with a JESSET JOB function named ZAP. It is secured, and this action is failed by default.
    • View data being written to an output class is being compressed/not with a Compress field to the JOUTCLAS command.
    • Control if all input and output JES files are displayed with an AllFiles toggle in the information area.

UNIX System Services (USS) related commands updates

An update to mount function will allow users to mount and unmount Unix file systems. Unmount and immediately unmount file systems line commands were added to the two commands DSCAT (mount line command) and UFILESYS command.

    z/OS updates

z/OS related commands enhancements will allow users to indicate the volume count of a data set residing on DASD (a VolC field to the DSCAT command). IPLINFO command was enhanced as well.
