How we can download ideal datacom program in flat file or PDS

Hello All

 

I have few query related to Ideal Datacom program , please let me know details if any one worked similar to that or have any idea ,it will be great help for me.

 

Is there any way to download ideal datacom program into PS file or PDS file in Mainframe ?

 

Is there anyway to upload new or edited program of ideal datacom via JCL or some utility ?

 

is there any Utility document that can be use ideal datacom program or JCL ?

Hi Badal-Igate,

 

You can run batch utility IDUTSTRN (source transport utility)  to create that flat file .

IDUTSTRN is explained in the CA IDEAL Working Environment Guide

 

Chapter 7: Transporting Applications in Source Form

 

 

The Source Transport Utility (IDUTSTRN) lets you import and export

 

Advantage CA-Ideal source code for the following entities:

 

 

Programs

Panels

Reports

Sequential file dataviews that are not modeled in Datadictionary

VSAM file dataviews

Members

 

 

The Source Transport Utility is a batch utility that you can use to:

 

 

Extract source code from one installation and load it to another

Unload source code to archive for backup and auditing purposes

Restore source selectively from external source format

Load source generated externally to Advantage CA-Ideal

 

 

 

The Source Transport Utility cannot import or export user definitions, system

 

definitions, and dataviews for Advantage CA-Datacom/DB or DB2, or modeled

 

sequential file dataviews.

I was basically looking

how we can import and export ideal datacom program based on your suggestion i am working on same.

 

 

I have requirement very i need to change more then 300+ program due to field length increase , so i am trying to find some automate way to achieve same.
