  • 1.  TSSINSTX dummy no longer installed for r16

    When I give the command

                    TSS MODI EXIT(ON)

    I receive the messages:

TSS9073E EXIT NOT ACTIVATED - LOAD ERROR
TSS0301I MODIFY   FUNCTION FAILED, RETURN CODE = 8

This appears to imply that the dummy program TSSINSTX is no longer installed with the r16 release, causing the LOAD error.

If memory serves, the dummy program TSSINSTX was automatically installed: this allowed the command above to execute without error. I think that the current installation (without a version of the TSSINSTX available) is actually a good choice. However, I would suggest that the message TSS9073E be altered:

TSS9073I – No installation exit program TSSINSTX currently installed – EXIT(OFF) still in force
since the load error is apparently intentional.

There should also be text in the documentation of TSSINSTX which documents the fact that TSSINSTX is not part of the normal load library

    Hi Ben,

You said you think TSSINSTX is "automatically installed," but as far as I know, you have to set up the exit (or reassemble and relink it when upgrading releases). Which is the way we did it in r15 as well. Just want to be sure I understand what you're asking for.

FYI, you'll find other TSSINSTX requirements here.

    Talk to you soon!
