  • 1.  CICS TRANSACTIONS in BYPLIST

    Hello community,

What would happen once we add a transaction, especially a sensitive transaction, to the BYPLIST of a CICS FACILITY matrix table? Is that same with not protecting a transaction under the OTRAN class which has no DEFPROT means everyone has access to that transaction as we know?

    Thank you..

If a transaction is on the BYPLIST...for a particular region...and not on the PROTLIST...then as I recall TSS grants the access immediately, without looking through the permissions to see what's allowed.  The same outcome as not defining access int the permissions, but faster because it skips the search.

Bob Boerum may say there are other and perhaps exotic differences, some exceptional circumstances in which the access granted isn't the same.

If its on BYPLIST no otran checking is done, hence an audit attribut on transaction, user or audit record does nothing. and an acc(none) override is not possible and   otran(*all*) acc(none) permission does not stop transactions on byplist

Yes, but we can audit the transactions on BYPLIST with BYPLIST=AUDIT attribute on CICS FACILITY matrix table, can't we?
