  • 1.  unable to allocate file when specifying storageclass

User can allocate a catalog file without specifying a storage class, but receives error below when specifying a storage class  STORAGECLASS(abcd    ).  There were no definitions currently in  RDT  STORCLAS.  Added ABCD to STORCLASS and permitted user to STORCLAS(abcd) but still same error.

Error captured in audit report shows:

    06/17/19  12:40:04  DFPD  SY11111   SY11111R  BATCH     FAIL  01  AMSE      CREATE   READ      *08*-66  PGM  J027392 INTRDR

                        RESOURCE  TYPE & NAME :   DATASET   ICF.XXX.XXXCAT

Can you run this through TSSSIM and report the results?  (My first thought:  Did the STORCLAS cause the allocation to be attempted on another volume that may not be accessible?)

    Hi Vince,

Good advice and thoughts from Joe.

Please let us know what happens when you run through TSSSIM.

    Cheers,

The TSSUTIL is not showing STORCLASS, the ACID Requested CREATE and only Allowed READ access to DATASET ICF.XXX.XXXCAT

Open a case for support they can have you run a SECTRACE to get a better look at the calls being passed

TSSUTIL only showing Dataset violation Requested Access CREATE Allowed Access READ.

You can opena case with support to have a SECTRACE set to get a better look at the calls being passed

Thank you for the advice.  Acid was attached to multiple profiles, both having access to dataset.  Access was being restricted due to the profile order. Profile with lower level of access listed prior to profile with greater access. Removed profile and user was successful.
