New Enhancements Related to Managing Storage Pools are now Generally Available!

Prevent short-on-storage (SOS) conditions with new enhancements that locate and report on contiguous available space within your storage pools!  Activate the new Storage Pool Interval Monitor to get automated alerts and messages when storage issues arise! 

New methods are now available for DBAs to analyze storage utilization and distribution, identify fragmentation issues, enable proactive and preventative alerts and corrections, and help avoid SOS conditions.

New Features:

• Storage Pool Interval Monitor – Analyzes utilization and reports on contiguous available storage; activates automatically when a specified threshold is reached; delivers alerts with customizable frequency
• Free Storage (Fragmentation) Report - New DCMT command displays distribution of free storage areas and provides improved visualization 
• System XA Storage Cushion Clause – Simplifies manual maintenance; removes the need for manual DBA intervention; allows active tasks to finish without reaching SOS conditions

Is there a recommendation as to what the Storage Cushion value should be for pool 255?

General recommendations for storage pool cushion is 10% of pool size.
