As you may have recently heard, Broadcom is pleased to announce enterprise support for Zowe, an open source project
that is created to host technologies that benefit the Z platform from all members of the Z community, including Integrated Software Vendors, System Integrators, and z/OS consumers. Zowe, like Mac or Windows, comes with a set of APIs and OS capabilities that applications build on and also includes some applications out of the box.
Zowe offers modern interfaces to interact with z/OS and allows you to work with z/OS in a way that is similar to what you experience on cloud platforms today. You can use these interfaces as delivered or through plug-ins and extensions that are created by clients or third-party vendors.
The IDMS Development Team is working on integrations with the Zowe CLI, which provides a command-line interface that lets you interact with IDMS remotely and use common tools such as Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), shell commands, bash scripts, and build tools for mainframe development.
We are looking for customers to join us as we develop our integration script samples and APIs. By joining our Customer Validation Program, you are invited to monthly WebEx meetings to discuss and preview new features and enhancements and provide input. You also get early access to test APARs and to make suggestions. There is no requirement that you must test any APARs and participation on our monthly calls are voluntary and informal.
