  • 1.  Retrieval time doubling using CA IDMS ODBC with IIS 8.5

    Posted May 08, 2014 09:22 AM

I have been ask to post this for one of our developers.  We have recently upgraded from IIS 6 to IIS 8.5.  As we understand it there were some major changes to the IIS in version  7 and above we are wondering if this is having an effect on our retrieval times.  Please see the details below.  If you need more information just let me know and I will try to get it.

    Thanks everyone.

We are seeing a slow down on retrieval times using CA IDMS ODBC driver on our new Win 2012 servers.

A single request to the mainframe (payload of a few hundred bytes) is taking about 4 secs. If two requests are sent in, the time jumps to 9 secs each (total 18). If three requests, are sent the time jumps to 13 secs per request.

We think that the problem is in the driver itself. The ODBC logs are below. The bulk of the time is spent between the first two log lines which looks like initialization of the driver itself.

    Scott,

We have no history of any performance degradation running our ODBC Driver with IIS 8.5...    I can see you're running the r17.0 version of the IDMS Server ODBC Driver.   Are you running the 64 or 32 bit version of the driver?   You should probably open an issue with IDMS support.

    Thanks,

    Dave Dillon
