    I have had kind of an odd request that has come up. A user is asking if their group can receive an email anytime a job comes into the CA7 queue. As there are over 14,000 jobs set up in CA7, I can't understand why they would want that many emails, but I figured that I would still find out if anyone else has had the need to put out emails to groups when a job comes into the CA7 queue

    I do but it is only for one job.  They want the one job run by a certain time and to get an email stating it hasn't if it doesn't run by that time.  It was the first job I set up with an email.   I have some more I need to set up for sorta the same thing.   We have some other jobs that need to run by a certain time and LOB needs to know if it doesn't.  Right now a message comes up on the master console for the operator to contact them.  I will be making it so the system sends an email v/s the operator having to call.

    Are you at z/OS 2.3? If so with z/OSMF setup and JES2EDS, you can use the
    following:

    //NFY NOTIFY EMAIL='sfrancis@us.ibm.com',WHEN='(RUN)'

    That will send an email when the job runs. I believe you can specify up to
    8, and there are other WHEN statements as well.
