  • 1.  Dataset (GDG) triggers a job in Ca7

    Hello All,

I am new to this setup on having the job triggered once the GDG is getting created in Mainframe system.

The requirement is once the GDG file new version is created mainframe system, then the job that is defined in Ca7 need to get triggered.

I have defined this GDG file in DB.6 and marked
    SMF FEEDBACK REQUIRED: Y
    GDG: Y
    TYPE: Norm
    POST AT CLOSE TIME: N

In Dataset trigger panel (DB.2.6) the GDG is updated to trigger a job that is defined in Ca7.

Is there anything I need to do in addition to have the job execute or once the GDG's new version is created?

    Thanks in Advance!!

How is the GDG data set being created? Is it created by a job submitted by CA 7 or by something outside of a CA 7 submitted job, such as FTP?

    Hello Roderick,

Thank you so much for your response. GDG file getting created outside CA7. File will be external dataset and as mentioned above, I've followed the procedure and it is working well and good 👍🏻
