  • 1.  Can you restart NCF Node Connections?

    Posted Jun 20, 2018 05:11 PM

is there a way to restart a ca7 ncf connection?  we had two ncf's start in the same second and neither one got the connection to the other...

do we need to recycle one of the ncf's so it will reconnect?  that seems archaic if so...

we have many inactive status ncf nodes which we should clean up or we could just restart inactive nodes periodically

    Hello,

You do not have to recycle NCF to reestablish the connection. To reestablish a connection, please issue the following command:

    f jobname,LOGON nodename

    thanks!

I see the modify status works against the CA7NCF task.

I don't see this documented in any obvious place in the 11.3 manuals - can you point me to the doc?

    Hello,

The previous replied address your question you asked.  One additional command to do if this should happen where the LOGON does not establish connection will be to do a STATUS command.   This will display rather the VTAM node itself is active.
