PassPhrase for authentication

​We are currently upgrading from password authentication to password phrase. Currently running WORKLOAD AUTOMATION ESP EDITION Version 11.4 with PTF RO98914 and WorkStation 11.3 Build 110. Problem is authentication will not except spaces in passphrase.

I tried the following pass phrase combinations with CA Workstation 11.3 Build 110 and here are the results:

1. Tried a 16-character pass phrase with numbers, characters (both Upper- and lower-case) and NO special characters or spaces.    Result:  SUCCESS!  I could login to the app.
2. Tried a 60-character pass phrase with numbers, characters (both Upper-and lower-case) and NO special characters or spaces.      Result:  SUCCESS!  I could login to the app.
3. Tried a 40-character pass phrase with numbers, characters (both Upper- and lower-case) AND SPACES but NO special characters  Result:  FAILED!  I could not login to the app.
4. Tried a 30-character pass phrase with number, characters (both Upper- and lower-case) and special characters but NO SPACES Result:  FAILED!  I could not login to the app.

 

Apparently, CA Workstation does not like spaces in the pass phrase.

Hi Daniel,

As you may also noticed, that you can't type space in the password field. Could you put the password with spaces in the notepad with double quotes like below and then copy/paste it in the Workstation password field and see if it works?
"pass phrase with spaces"

Hi Daniel,

Thank you for the quick update.

Would you mind to test again without the double quotes? Just copy/paste the password from the notepad.

If it works, we will update our document. If not, we will address it as a code bug.

I realized that you opened a support case before on this and I gave you my assumed answer based on our doc. Sorry about that.
