    Good morning,

I received an alert that our trackfile is at 90%. When I compress this file, I use utility CYBESUT1 to do this, and it works just fine. Problem I have now, is that I need a backout plan for this "change". New requirement. I have never had a backout plan for this, as it has always just worked to compress the file and we go on our merry way. Is there a utility to use for building that file fresh, just in case something funky happens when I run my compression job? Or should my backout plan be to just run the current utility again?

    Hi Frank,
The complete process to be able to back out would be

    1) Quiesce ESP and wait for all work to complete.
    2) Let all jobs complete.
    3) Take a backup of ESP's Operational files.
    4) Run the UT1.

If something happened during the UT1 job it would be possible to restore the Operational files to their original state.

Thank you Don, I will take a backup of the trakfile before I start my work.

    Hi Frank,
I would suggest backing up the APPLFILE, TRAKFILE and JOBINDEX. They need to be kept in sync for ESP to start.
