The CA Brightside & CA JCLCheck development teams are pleased to announce the availablility of the JCL Language Support extension on the Visual Studio Code (VS Code) marketplace!
Just months ago, we released the Zowe conformant CA JCLCheck Workload Automation Plug-in for Zowe CLI. You can use the plug-in to validate JCL during development and within automated processes, which helps you to identify execution-time errors before they cause jobs to fail in production. The plug-in provides the following capabilities:
- Run CA JCLCheck reports while editing JCL in a local editor.
- Validate JCL before you submit batch workloads in an automated pipeline.
- Validate JCL before running it in a production environment.
To provide tighter integration with the popluar Visual Studio Code editor and Zowe Explorer, we developed the JCL Language Support extension for VS Code. The extension provides JCL syntax-highlighting and code snippets to all users out-of-the-box. If you have CA JCLCheck at your site, you can integrate with the extension and benit from the report generation and linting capabilities.
