In discussing ways to remove product complexities we have often considered the elimination of the VM:Secure directory Quick start.
A couple of decades ago, the difference in time to initialize the product for a Quick start and a Source start was significant. Today, we don’t feel the difference in time between a Quick and Source start is as significant and perhaps the extra logic complexities are no longer worth a slight difference in time to initialize the product. If you are running SSI, each agent member always initializes with a SOURCE start. So, for an SSI environment, all but one of the VMSECURE instances in the cluster are already always started with a SOURCE start.
Is there enough time difference between a VM:Secure directory Quick and Source start to keep the extra logic complexity in the product? Are there other reasons that a Quick start is preferred that are not time related? Let us know what you think.
