We're looking to activate the DRTAPE parm (and associated parms) to our View system to help protect against accidental report loss. We experienced a situation where the NGET parms were inadvertently changed with a SARINIT run and we lost a lot of data. Lesson learned. We're also going to implement ERO as well, but my questions right now related only to the DR* SARINIT parms.
I understand that our original database tapes are cut and given a retention based off of either the NGET parms or an ERO table, but what about the the second tape that is created based off of the DRTAPE parm? How does the tape retention get set for that tape? If I want to have the DRTAPE retained for longer than what the original tape is retained for, does that have to be controlled by CA-1 with an RDS file, or is there somewhere in View that can set the retention to be different than the primary tape?
