  • 1.  Does anybody have a jcl available to list all tapes in the library?

I am looking for a jcl to list all tapes in a library.  This would enable me to perform a massive clean up which has not been done.  I am trying to narrow down the the volume tape range which have tapes. I have noticed that there are plenty of tapes which belong to certain ranges that do not exist.

    Thanks.

You can use the EARL program called TMEVSNM to list out all active tapes.  You can locate this program in the CTAPEARL library for CA 1.

    Eugene -

    • You can also use TMSGRW, another CA-1 report writer.  I like it better than the canned reports - easier to manipulate.  It's supported as far as I know, even if they're not enhancing it.
    • If you have FDR from Innovation, you can also us their report writer: FDReport.  Besides DASD reporting, it has a CA-1 interface.

Thanks to all who helped.  I will try both the EARL as well as TMSGRW suggestions.
