Symbolic Issues

Has anyone experienced issues with their Endevor Compilers, where the symbolic's used occasionally fail, and the workaround has been to key the entire dataset as an option?

Hi Michael,

It'd certainly be strange if Endevor occasionally gave different results, but most errors like this are due to some other symbol, maybe used to provide a DISP, or DCB parameter that is invalid.  I'd like to see the complete job listing ideally one working, one failing to help track down the symbol that's causing the error.  Ultimately this is probably an issue that should be opened in the support queue where they can assist with some additional diagnostic traces to help determine what is going on.

Hi,

They opened an issue at the same time they created this community question. They already gave me the listing.  The problem is that they had a invalid processor group over ride to the processor. They had 2 dots after the string. This made a invalid dataset name.

The symbolic substitution section would show the invalid dataset name at processor run time? 🏃‍♂️ ⌚
