  • 1.  Create versus Modifying a Package

    Hi all!

I have not played much with using ESI to control functions around packages but here's my requirement:

I want to restrict the ability to CREATE packages to a group of users. I then want a separate group of users to only be able to add or modify their SCL to that package (MODIFY).

The challenge: It appears PMODIFY is CLOSE to what I want but not  quite (documentation on what it restricts is not in the manuals). I need to restrict the second group from modifying the package wrapper information i.e. DESCRIPTION, PACKAGE TYPE, EXECUTION WINDOW, etc. I need to restrict the second group so that they can only add/modify content to the package.

Ideas that don't involve modifying the panel?

    Hi John,

Did you look at an exit? I was thinking exit 1 or exit 7.

Exit 7 would work but I'd prefer to avoid an exit
