Endevor Question - How to rebuild Base file

Our Endevor base, delta and MCF files are defined as VSAM. We lost the base and have no point of recovery. For now we have allocated an empty base file. Is there an Endevor utility to rebuild the base from the MCF and Delta. Currently looking at the Unload/Reload documentation and looking for sample JCL. Thanks.

Did you check with your storage people to see if there may be a HSM backup of the dataset?

Yes we did work with storage to go as far back as possible with no luck.

Is the base for the production stage?

Yes the missing base is for production.

Is your DASD mirrored?  Any chance your disaster recovery people may have an off site copy?

Hi the Endevor implementation is low usage so we do not know exactly when the file dropped off. Storage was unable to provide further assistance. At this point we decided it was simpler to rebuild ourselves, either using an initial load from the source output libraries or an Endevor utility hence the question regarding load/unload.

MAYBE when your initial Endevor was set up, someone put a value in the Source Output Library field? If so, you MIGHT still have a PDS lying around that contains the source.....

If there is no backup for the origianl base/delta but you do have a source output library (pds format) then the only

thing you can do is add all the elements back in.  What is the status of the delta?  does that exist?  are they any

other types in the delta file or only the data from the missing base?  If there is still some confusion we can open

a new case and pursue it that way.
