  • 1.  Converting Native Security Tables to ESI rules for V18 upgrade

Currently using Native security for access control on V16.  Planning an upgrade to V18, but first need to convert the extensive security tables to ESI rules.  Was wondering if anyone has found or created an automated way to convert the Security tables using the Name Equates table (BC1TNEQU) and create a list of rules that need to be created to provide the same accesses to be created in the Security package.

    Hello Mark,

There is no utility or conversion documentation to assist in converting from Endevor Native Security to Endevor External Security Interface (ESI).  One can contact Endevor support for any specific questions that arise or if more extensive help is needed;  CA Services can be contracted to assist.

We in CA Services could build a tool that reads the Native security tables (either source or executables) and re-formats them into rules your security team can use. These actions are similar to actions we have performed in the past..
