    Hi all,

I am super excited to make this announcement.
Below is the text from the official announcement that should be mailed out this week!

We are delivering CA Gen 8.6 Complete via PTFs that get you to the Complete release level.  If you are upgrading from Gen 8.5, to upgrade to Gen 8.6 Complete you will need to install Gen 8.6 from the original installers and apply the PTFs.  If you are already on Gen 8.6, no matter what PTFs you have applied, the rollup PTFs will get you up to the complete release.

The eight CA Gen 8.6 Complete PTFs for the Distributed platforms have been published and are available on our CA Gen 8.6 Solutions & Patches web page (
    https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/product-content/recommended-reading/technical-document-index/ca-gen-8_6-solutions---patches.html)

The PTFs for z/OS are available from the same link above.  Follow the link for the z/OS - CA Gen Maintenance Grid, from there select the Since GA, for the CA Gen r8.6.

For those customers who use our Japanese or Nonstop versions, we are still working on finishing up the PTFs for those versions.  Stay tuned.

As always, I encourage you to review the Release Notes (https://docops.ca.com/ca-gen/8-6/en/release-notes/ca-gen-8-6-ga-complete) and the readme files.

    Good morning.
You mentioned the " eight CA Gen 8.6 Complete PTFs for the Distributed platforms ".
Are there similar rollup PTFs for z/OS?
Unfortunately, our mainframe provider does not use CSM, so we use SMP/E jobs to apply the maintenance.
    Thank you.

    Hi Doug,

The message above is unclear.  Yes there is a similar delivery for z/OS.  You can find the PTFs under the CA Gen Maintenance Grid from https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/product-content/recommended-reading/technical-document-index/ca-gen-8_6-solutions---patches.html

From there, follow the Since GA link for CA Gen r8.6
Let me know if you have any other questions.  I will update the original message to clarify.
    Thanks

    Doug,
    Update to Su's response.
For z/OS the PTFs are not rollup, instead they are applied using SMP/E, thus you need to Receive and Apply all PTFs to resolve any pre-reqs, etc.
If you already have Gen 8.6 installed you can either download the individual PTFs or you can use CARS. These PTFs are in CARS1907, which become available August 5th, 2019.

    Regards,
    Teresa

I have not downloaded z/OS PTFs for a little while. Hopefully this is still an option (see next)

There used to be an option to download all related maintenance when selecting a PTF for download. This would package all pre-req and co-req PTFs into a zip file that could be downloaded.

SMP/E will only receive and install PTFs that are new to the SMP/E CSI.
