CA Gen data modeling interface to ErWin (model intergration)

Does anyone know if this is still viable?

Our corporate data modeling group is trying to resurrect this, as it has become difficult (for various reasons) to maintain the Gen data models in the corporate data model.

they have encountered some difficulties in their latest effort, and I am just wondering if there's any expertise out there that might have some insight.
Here is what they are seeing:
    ______________________________________________

My Import is failing . I think the culprit is the following below. This is one of the problems of the Broadcom acquisition of CA.

We need to know 2 things here to even get started.

1)The updated link for that bridge parameter file.

    2) where to update the updated link in ERWIN so that the import picks up the new file.

Other possible option to import in ERWIN is to use a COBOL Copybook File. Is it possible to create a copybook file from CA:GEN for it?

Today I sent a question to ErWin support to see if they could help. Here is the response I received from them. So, I am learning...

Hi Doug,     CA Gen and MIM (CA's Multi Image Manager) are both CA products not products at erwin, Inc.  Please contact Broadcom support at +1 800 225 5224 You can also open a case online with Broadcom using this web page:  https://www.broadcom.com/mybroadcom/login?fromURI=https://ca-broadcom.wolkenservicedesk.com/login-sso Best Regards, Matt

How does MIMB find the correct CA Gen API if you have multiple versions of CA Gen installed on the workstation? (e.g. CA Gen r8/r8.5/r8.6...)

    Hi Doug,

Regarding MIMB and Gen's API reference, see the company (Meta Integration Technologies) web pages related to their MIMB product:

    http://metaintegration.com/Products/MIMB/Specifications/MIRCaCoolGenImport.html

It appears they are looking for the API as follows:
The bridge requires access to either the 'Workstation Update API' (ueapi32w.dll) or the 'Workstation Read Only API' (eapi32w.dll).
The path to the API must be set into the the environment variable 'PATH'.   For example:
Under Windows Control Panel / System / Advanced / Environment Variables, edit the value of 'PATH' system variable, and make sure it contains for example:
    For version 8.0:   C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\Gen r8\Gen
    For version 8.5:   C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\Gen85\Gen

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks,
    Steve
