  • 1.  Toolset full screen mode - how to undo

    Posted Oct 04, 2019 11:00 AM

Does anyone know how to turn off full screen mode in the toolset?

It happened to me once a long time ago, but I don't remember how I got it switched out of full screen mode.

I know that F12 will put you into it, but I don't know what gets you out (F12 doesn't, it is disabled)…

Which version of the toolset are you using?  I tried it with the Gen 8.6 toolset and F12 puts me in full screen mode and it also takes me out of full screen mode.  There should also be a small icon somewhere on the screen that you can click on that takes you out of full screen mode that looks like this (mine showed up on the upper right corner of the screen):

Version is Gen 8.6 (but not yet the Complete release)

F12 put the user into full screen mode, but did not toggle back. Another user remembered the icon you identified, but we could not see it on the display of the user with the problem. But, when he clicked "in the vicinity" of where the icon should be, full screen mode was removed.
    Thank you for the response!

    Doug,

I was able to use the F12 to put a user (say AB) in full screen mode, and then toggle using F12 back.  I tested with the r8.6 release with the '8.6 Complete' applied as well.

    Thanks

Doug, I can only confirm Steve test result. Same for me. What are your Windows display settings? Is it an extended screen or VM machine?
    regards

I just tried, and it works for me too. I'm guessing the developer that had the problem has a different color scheme that made the button hard to see. Not sure why the F12 didn't toggle like it should. Could be missing a Toolset PTF. I will check on that.

This is a standard Windows 10 desktop with two monitors. No extended screen or VM.

I have verified that if you have toggled full screen on, then close the toolset, you are "stuck" in full screen mode until you can open an object (AB, etc.). You can cycle through the (invisible) menu bar items, but the "Toggle Full Screen F12" item is disabled (see example below) until you open something in the model. I discovered that if I opened Tree View and opened an AB, it seemed to automatically switch out of full screen.

It also seems to behave oddly when your toolset window is maximized and you go into full screen mode. To make the invisible menu bar items visible again, I had to Restore Down the window and then make the window slightly smaller than the screen. Then my menu items bacame visible again.

    Doug,

I will open a Gen Support case to review this F12 Toggle Full Screen feature further and will email you with the case details.

    Thanks!

I would like to provide an update on the status of this feature F12 - Toggle Full Screen....We are in the process of making a change to the feature within the Toolset, so that when you are in 'Full Screen' mode and exit the Toolset, then re-enter the Toolset, you will no longer be in 'Full Screen' mode and the Toolset coordinates will NOT be set to Full Screen coordinates, which gave the appearance of being in 'Full Screen' model.  This should resolve the problem Doug described:
"I have verified that if you have toggled full screen on, then close the toolset, you are "stuck" in full screen mode until you can open an object (AB, etc.).
