Hello, my team member has a problem to run diagram trace..when click the program, the trace load and disappear..why it's happen and how to solve it/
Hello, please check that you have GEN85JRE environment variable ant it is pointing to valid Java installation path.
Also , after Java update this path needs to be changed.
GEN85JRE=C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_151\
BR
If that did not work then got to user's folder on the PC: C:\Users\xxxxxxxx\AppData\Local\CA\Gen 8.5\cfgand delete the folder DiagramTrace.
This will reset Diagram Trace .
So you have tried all the steps in this KB from below thread including starting with the "-clean" option: Diagram Trace Utility fails to start, see splash s - CA Knowledge What is the value of "echo %GEN85JRE%" from a command prompt?Have you tried to use "Run as administrator" to start the DTU?ThanksLynn
Thanks for the response.
The value is ( C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SharedComponents\JRE\1.8.0_60\)
I already run the Diagram Trace as Administrator and still cannot be opened. But, how to launch the DiagramTrace with the 'clean' option ???

Hi Svalbonas,
That is good advice which also applies to Gen 8.6 for GEN86JRE.
However if the DTU is visible for a short time it probably means the DTU did actually successfully load java and the DTU may need some work files/cache cleanup. This KB article may help:
Diagram Trace Utility fails to start, see splash s - CA Knowledge
It refers to Gen 8.5 but same would apply for Gen 8.6

Hi Nor Amirah,
Did you team member resolve the DTU startup problem with the above advice? If yes was it the work files/cache that needed t o be cleared?
Thanks
Hi Lynn,
Yes it already solved. And the work files/cache need to be clean. They just follow the instruction given by Svalbonas.
Thanks,
Amirah
