  • 1.  OPSMVS GDI QUESTION

    Posted Feb 18, 2019 12:39 PM

I would like to email out an Health Checker exception to certain teams, So once OPSMVS gets the exception I run a Health Checker utility to print the exception out to the log using GDI (No HC exception history because we can't have logstream running on these system).  So i put the output in the OPSLOG,using GDI with message ID of HCALERT0.  How can i email this information or capture this information with AOF, it's not a MLWTO message so can't capture it that way.  Any suggestions?

    Example:

    HCALERT0 CHECK(IBMGDPS,GDPS_CHECK_STATE)
    HCALERT0 SYSPLEX: PLEX1 SYSTEM: KPP1

    Hi Randy,

You mentioned once OPSMVS gets the exception you print the exception out to the log. Is the contents of the exception not already in the OPSLOG...  You can use CA OPS to send emails in rules, or rexx programs...

If not all the data is included in the original HC exception, the messages you send to the OPSLOG have the MessageID of HCALERT0.. You could write a MSG rule on this MessageID and create an email...

If any help needed, please raise case and we could examine it a little closer...

Or if some other CA OPS user has any advice... Please let Randy know..

    Best regards,
