We are in the planning process of using IBM's Automatic Restart Manager and OPS/MVS's System State Manager GAV2 to manage a Parallel Sysplex Environment. We are hearing valid argument's from IBM about strictly using ARM for restarts after a failure. One, ARM can react to a failure faster than SSMGAV2 and secondly it has the capability to determine the best LPAR in the Sysplex to perform the restart (Available resources, CSA, etc...).
We would like to know how other Automation Teams are incorporating IBM's ARM and SSMGAV2. Any input is greatly appreciated.
