    I am setting up out code groups in the FILTVIOU member. I have been unable to setup (space)VMS and (space)LIB. I have used the just three letters, a litteral (extra) space, a question mark, single quotes and double quotes. nothing worked. I searched the manuals without results.

    Any know how to specify these two in the member?

    Hi Goosse,

    I tested successfully with the following in FILTVIOU:

    SET_SUM_LABEL=OUTCODE VMS
    SET_SUM_FILTER=SCRATCH = N AND "OUT CODE" INCL !VMS! AND "OUT CODE" < AVMS

    "OUT CODE" INCL !VMS! includes all records with an OUTCODE, that end with VMS.
    "OUT CODE" < AVMS excludes all other OUTCODEs ending with VMS and are not equal to " VMS".

    For Space(LIB) you could use:

    SET_SUM_LABEL=OUTCODE LIB
    SET_SUM_FILTER=SCRATCH = N AND "OUT CODE" INCL !LIB! AND "OUT CODE" < ALIB

    Achim,
    Thank you for your help.

    Using your filters I get a View Display error stating "value is too big
    (too long). I was getting the error when I attempted to put quotes around
    the value. Anything more than 4 characters, the max length of an outcode
    seems to get this error.

    When I take the trailing exclamation point off, it appears to work. The
    numbers match the vault inventory report. The only other option besides
    the end is the beginning. and anything starting with VMS or LIB would be
    greater than the AVMS or ALIB.

    I don't see the mention of the exclamation point in the description of
    values for filters. When I search, I find it for automation objects. I am
    not sure why.

    I just checked. We are on 12.6. I wonder if this makes any difference.

    Thank you and have a Terrific day!

    Goose,
    I think that you need the ptf RO39077 be applied. It fixed all filtering problem using the filter patterns.
