Hello CA Dispatch users and fellow Community members,

Considering the length of time many of our customer are required to keep old archived data available, it's probably inevitable that at some point either in the past or in the future you have or will encounter a problem trying to reprint an archived report from CA Dispatch. You may discover that you have a "bad" or perhaps missing archive tape that you will not be able to mount on the system. Or, that when mounted may have a bad spot or corrupted tape label that causes the CA Dispatch extract subtask to abend.

Should you encounter a situation such as that described above, then in order to prevent continued abends in the CA Dispatch extract subtask, you are going to need to consider getting the Dispatch archive database file cleaned up so that users do not continue to try and reprint reports from one of these bad or missing tapes.

The good news is that we have a batch utility available that will assist you with your database cleanup effort. The purpose of this Community post is to draw your attention to recently published Knowledge Document ID TEC1245769 which provides the instructions for executing the DSEXARD utility job.

While you are out on the Knowledge Management site for CA Dispatch, you should consider reviewing some of the other available knowledge documents such as "Document ID TEC1922075 - How do I retrieve/recover an expired archive report?" as well as many others that go a long way in providing a wealth of informative knowledge on a variety of different subjects.

I hope you find the above information and knowledge document useful! Take care for now!

    Regards,

    Scott London
