  • 1.  REST API internal security support

We recently installed CA7 Rest API feature. And we learned the Rest API supports only external security (RACF, ACF2, Top Secret).

We are using internal security in couple of CA 7 instances. It has been that way for years and there are 100+ users defined in the security deck. It is not an easy task to migrate all these users over to External Security(RACF).

Per support this issue has not come up to Broadcom's attention and majority users use external security. The question is, what should Customers who use internal security do ?

I would like to place an enhancement request for Rest API internal security support.

    Thank you,
    Farid.

Currently the CA 7 Rest API only supports external security for some endpoints. Please post your enhancement request to the idea board by clicking "IDEAS" from the toolbar above and add a new idea under CA 7 Workload Automation. CA 7 Product management and development will review ideas and decide on a future enhancement.

Hi Faridun - Thanks for your post! Since most of the CA 7 customers use External Security Managers (ESMs), when we designed web services, we looked at the larger pool of CA 7 customers. You are right; some customers, including you, are using internal CA 7 security for various reasons. We are looking into ways to make web-services work for customers like you. I will reach out to you when we have an update on it; thanks for your patience!
