Hi community members. We use CA DISK r12.5. A PDSE-2 library was archived. CA DISK AUTO-RESTORE processed all members one by one. It was very slow. Is it possible to restore the library as the whole file or improve the restore performance in some other way?
First of all, we do not support PDSE-2 for now.
You need to install the PTF RO92126 and RO93242 which bypass such libraries. You will need also to add into USEDSSIO parameter PV2 to activate it.
Actually if you do not have these PTFs you are archiving these data sets but they will be restored as a normal PDSE and the versionning will be lost.
I guess the performance are due to this back processing.
Please stop using it and install as quick as possible these 2 PTFs.
The PDSE.2 support is available in the release R14 which should be published next year.
If you need anything else please let me know or open a case.
Happy new Year,
Thanks for your important alert.
Just to be clear, CA Disk does support PDSE V2s for Archive, Backup, Restore and Recover with PTFs RO92126 and RO93242 using the DFdss data mover. Move and Copy does not use the DFdss data mover APIs and so PDSE V2s are bypassed. We plan full support using FAMS in R14 at a later date.
