After attending Baylor University Norma Labbe began her career as an editor for a software company in Austin, TX in 1985. She eventually became a Technical writer with Applied Data Research, which was acquired by CA in1989. Norma used her technical background become a subject matter expert for the . The challenges she faces everyday, the people she works with, and the high-quality products are all what has keeps Norma at CA.
When she began her career with CA, she received "dumps on green-stock paper." Needless to say, It has changed a lot since then.
“From the way we develop and document our products, to the tools we use to support our customers.”
She believes the CA Communities are an integral part of how CA operates today. We are able to use CA Communities “to stay in touch with what’s happening and to contribute to each other and [with] our customers.” Norma also believes access to knowledge articles can also be useful to our understanding of product functionality, and aid in problem solving.
Outside of work Norma focuses on her family first. (which of course includes her adorable pup, Dalia.)
“I have two sons (Luke and Michael) and the oldest is about to have his first child. [update! Baby is here!] And I’ve been married to a great man, Jim, for over 37 years!”
Norma has also been a part of Landmark Worldwide’s Assisting Program helping children, teens, and families in the Austin area, for over 20 years. She is also an active member in her church for over 10 years.
