Abstract: The Symantec Management Platform uses role-based security, which means that user access is based on the user's security role. A security role is a set of privileges and permissions that is granted to all members of that role. The following steps will outline how to create the custom security role for Software Managers. This will walk you through creating a Software Manager role.
This Software Manager role provides the necessary rights & privileges to manage the Software Catalog and associated elements for a catalog entry including the catalog definition & components, the package source & command lines, applicable metering rules and associated licenses. This also enables full functionality of the flip-book view for both the Newly Discovered software list as well as the Managed Software list in the Activity Center UI.
