    We are currently migrating from Altiris 6 to Altiris 7.1 and we are looking to include the non-supported OS's like NT4 and Win2K in the inventory information. We were hoping to use the Standalone Inventory set up to acheive this but I'm finding that this is probably not possible. Does anyone have any ideas or pointers to guides that could assist us in including the NT4 and W2K servers/workstations inventory in the new Altiris 7.1 setup.

    Your best bet will most likely be to retain a 6.x NS to manage those machines, and then use the 7.1 Data Connector to import data from the 6.x database.

    Another option would be to create SQL Views within the 7.1 database that gather data from the 6.x database via SQL's Linked Server function.
