  • 1.  Right Click Action to assign Barcode Number

    Hi

I want to create a right click action that opens a view where you can set the barcode value on an asset manually.
From my experience the "edit" botton takes to long to load and I want something faster for such a common task as assigning barcode number.

Right Click - > Assign Barcode -> Enter Barcode -> Save

Does anyone know if this can be done? Is it possible to create a View that only shows the barcode field on an asset that accepts the asset guid as a parameter?

currently it is not possible to create such a view.

However, there is Assign Barcode menu function that lets you select an item by scanning the Serial Number and then assigning the Barcode. Would this be something that you could use?

    Hi Triinu

Do you mean the Barcode simulator that's included with Barcode solutions?

Please let me know where I can find this function.

the Assign Barcode menu is available on the Barcode Device (also called handheld device or Barcoder).

On the device, click Update > Assign Barcode, and then you see the following screen:

Note that the Assign Barcode System Template must be enabled for the profile that you are using. (see the screen below)

    Thank you Triinu.

But unfortently I feel this still takes to many steps to take just to assign a barcode.
