  • 1.  Norton Power Eraser: Silent Scans??

    Posted Feb 03, 2015 06:53 AM

    Hello All.

I'm wondering if run flags exist for NPE. I specifically am trying to sort out a way to remove PUP's from client machines, silently. I understand that the root kit scan requires a reboot, which is why I'm curious about any run flags.

If run flags don't exist, please, please implement them as a feature. NPE rocks and I'd like to utilize it more.

    Thanks,

    2slow

They don't as far as I remember. You can check by navigating to the exe via command line and trying the /h switch to check.

    New command line switches:

    • -spe: Starts the Support Tool with Power Eraser selected.
    • -speonly: Runs Power Eraser in silent mode.
    • -spexml: Creates an xml document with the Power Eraser results (Note: requires the use of -spe or -speonly

Then it's not silent. Probably trying something else such as the threat analysis scan from within the symhelp tool.
