  • 1.  This task run has less child instances that it should: might be partially purged.

    Hello,

By accident, Quick Delivery Task was ran on thousands of computers. We need to find out where the software was installed in order to remove it. On 3 of 4 child NS servers, we used the standard Delivery reports to get the results. Hovever one NS is a headache.

The task is only 1 day old. The purging settings set by default 1000000 records or 6 months. If I go to the task directly and double click the summary bar I get the warning: 'This task run has less child instances that it should: might be partially purged.' and no data available at all.

The reports does not show any results as if the task never ran.

Any ideas what happened, how come there is no trace of the task delivery status that is 1 day old ?

Thanks for the help in advance.

    Hi Tomasz,

If your software have some detection rule, you may create Managed Delivery Policy with uninstall command line and assign it on all computers where Software Management Solution is installed (uninstall cmd will be executed only on computers where software is installed).

To have some reporting, you need to Collect Full Software Inventory or Targeted Software Inventory (only for this software).

After that you may monitor number of computers in the Software View by selecting needed Software release and see on Computers with software installed list:

After this list will be empty you may disable Managed Delivery Policy.

    Hi Dmitri,

Thank you for your reply. We know where the software was installed before and using custom task we know on which computers it was delivered.

However my question is how come the task results completely vanished after one day.

Has anyone come across such situation ?

    Thanks

    Hi Tomasz,

    Couple of questions:

    1. Which version of SMP you are using?

    2. Please take a look at bitmap below: is this the settings which you have on all your NS servers for the Clean-up Task Data task?

    3. Does all the NS servers and SQL server have the same versions and regional settings?

    Thank you,

    Alex.
